5Ten Coaching & Consulting is a practice built from the inside out.
Founded in 2003 on a simple belief that standing tall is critical to success and fulfillment in work and life.
5Ten provides a pathway for leaders, teams, and organizations to stand tall and tackle anything.
I am not driven by titles or traditional milestones, but by purpose, curiosity, and the need to contribute in ways that align with who I am becoming.”
Coaching and consulting by an experienced leader and coach.
Through leadership and team coaching, organizational consulting, and training and development, my clients span the federal, private and non-profit world.
I help leaders and organizations navigate change, build alignment, and thrive—no matter the arena. Because I’ve spent years coaching and consulting across the federal government, local municipalities, nonprofits, and the private sector, I quickly grasp the unique ‘language’ of each. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all frameworks. Instead, I bring the cross-sector agility needed to understand your specific culture, build trust fast, and deliver tailored strategies that actually stick. Ultimately, my strengths lie in cross-sector agility, building trust with diverse leaders, and meeting any organization exactly where it is, using a tailored approach that respects its specific regulatory and cultural realities.

Before I was a coach, I was in the leadership seat making decisions, managing people, and charting the course as a senior leader in corporate America for 16 years. I’ve developed and managed high-performance teams who delivered remarkable results. I’ve also led through the hard stuff: taking on more with less, managing through reorganizations, delivering bad news, navigating resistant cultural forces, and having the conversations nobody wants to have.
I launched 5Ten in 2003, and I’ve spent the years since coaching hundreds of leaders in the private, federal, local and non-profit sectors. I led Georgetown University’s Executive Certificate in Leadership Coaching and designed the first Leadership Presence courses in the coaching and executive development programs. I’ve shaped this generation of coaches while continuing to deepen my own practice because I believe that leaders never stop learning, and neither should the people who work with them.
I’m a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coaching Federation, a Certified Somatic Coach through the Strozzi Institute (trained under Richard Strozzi-Heckler, one of the founding masters of somatic coaching), and hold an MBA and Executive Certificates in Leadership Coaching and Organizational Development from Georgetown. I’ve been in this field long enough to know which frameworks to trust, which to question, and which ones people throw around without having done the work. And I’ll always tell you which is which.
A declaration I wrote while completing somatic mastery courses still holds: I am a commitment to helping people claim their power and contribute their unique talents and gifts.
COLLABORATIVE PARTNERSHIP
I’ve been coached. I’ve been consulted to. I’ve attended leadership development classes and cohort programs.
I’ve faced consultants who presented beautifully produced binders and PowerPoint decks with solutions that didn’t reflect a true understanding of our particular dynamics or needs. I’ve been on the receiving end of experts who didn’t listen deeply to what we were saying — and not saying. I’ve participated in off-the-shelf training that was interesting but missed the mark.
Those experiences shaped how I work. I make sure the work we do is relevant to your organization’s needs. I listen. I ask questions. I brainstorm with you. I propose solutions that align with your culture and your people. I come in as a collaborative partner with deep respect for you, your organization, and what you’re carrying.
My credentials and experience inform our work together.

A little more about the person behind the practice.
Because of my hearty laugh, people often tell me they are aware of my presence long before I appear. I believe that laughter and humor are critical to success in leadership and life, and I bring both into every room I enter.
Outside of work, you’ll find me biking or hiking the C&O Canal, vacationing on the Outer Banks of North Carolina with my husband Randy, or hunting for the perfect book in a good independent bookstore. I’m a major golf and baseball fan, and someone who believes that how you spend your time outside the work says as much about who you are as the work itself.
Our story is our history… and our future.
Thirty years of doing this work, and a life lived with intention, resilience, and a genuine belief that we are each here to discover, cultivate and contribute our unique talents has shaped a point of view worth sharing. The principles that guide my work, my leadership, and the way I move through the world are part of what makes 5Ten what it is.
